AFTER 37 YEARS ...

This is what sprouted up on our lawn on Friday. Yes, our home is on the market (such as it is) and we hope to sell it by August when Rulon retires. We moved to Naperville in 1972 with Chris and Mark. So much has occured during that time. We had our four daughters here - Jill, Kim, Lynn and Paige. We have been so happy here and it has been a wonderful place for our family. We have lived in our present house for ll years. Paige was the only one to live here except for some who came for the summers. It is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and we have loved living here. Hope that someone else will see the potential of this house.
We are going to be very sad to leave it and all our friends here. But it is time for a mission and to be closer to our children.
Wish us luck and success in the next part of our lives!

Overwhelmed!

Well, Dad & I went to serve on our temple shift today and were appoached by President Robinson. He asked if he could see us in his office. This is never a good thing - last time he asked us to be baptistry directors. This time, he called us to be shift coordinators on the 2nd and 4th SATURDAYS (the busiest, most hectic time of the week). We start in April but will be able to shadow the coordinators for a few weeks until then. So pray for us. It is a lot to learn for us oldsters. Of course, my coordinator on my Thursday afternoon shift just turned 89! (She is amazing.)
We also are in the process of getting our house ready to put on the market next week. This means removing all personal items , photos (this was the hardest as I have so many of the grandchildren that I love to see each day), giving away some things and rearranging the furniture in all the bedrooms. The bed has to be in the middle of the "bed wall" with just the essentials. Our house looks so bare now! We had help in stripping it and staging it from a friend. She even recruited her husband to come last night after work and help move some things to the basement. Thank heaven for friends like that!
So life is changing for us. Who knows but what we are being prepared for something in the future that requires a lot of organizing skills. Maybe it is our mission to work here for a while longer. We will see what happens.
