Well, here we go one more time with snow. It is beautiful but ...
Here is an e-mail I received this morning and my answer to the question asked.

Hi Sisters, I was just reading over the RS April newsletter on line and was reminded that I will be teaching in a couple of weeks from Elder Wirthlin's talk. "Come What May and Love It". I haven't reread his talk, but I remember he spoke a little about how humor can help us in life. So, I decided right here and now that I would do a quick poll of whomever's email address catches my eye (very unscientific) and ask you a question. How do you handle distress/discouragement in your life related on a small scale such as.... After enjoying 60 + degree weather a few weeks ago, and seeing some buds on trees and tulips begining to peek through, what can we love (or laugh about) with snow and freezing temperatures in April? When you have time please email me with some of your thoughts. It will be great to see different perspectives and learn from you to help teach my lesson. I appreciate your help in this matter. Thanks, Elaine

COME WHAT MAY AND LOVE IT!
(sing to Popcorn Popping)

I looked out my window and what did I see?
Snowflakes falling down on every tree!
I can choose to mumble - to whine and groan,
To be upset and to cry and moan.
But what good will that do?
They soon will melt away,
And Spring will finally come to stay!

I look out my window and what do I see?
Problems popping up all around me!
I can choose to mumble - to whine and groan,
To be upset and to cry and moan.
But what good will that do?
They may not go away,
But I'll be happy even if they stay!

Just look out your window and what will you see?
Sometimes good or bad, or even ugly!
You can choose to mumble to whine and groan,
To throw a fit and to cry and moan.
But what good will that do?
You have to work and pray,
Just be happy "come what may"!

Love your song, Barbara! We have been singing this kind of song all spring with a couple of warm days followed by 6 inches of snow, several times over. Until the last storm, the apricot blossoms were safe, but they popped out this weekend and it snowed Saturday. Oh well, "Come What May and Love It!"

Great job, Mom!! You've definitely got some Grandma in you. I laugh that you guys are complaining about snow in April. That's just a given here. (May too!)

That was so cute and creative, Mom! I enjoyed reading it. All my life, my mom has been an eternal optimist in every situation, and I am so thankful for that example. I'm sure Elaine will love having that as a part of her lesson. I haven't loved the spring snowstorms either, but here in Utah they are finally gone and the warm weather and sun is here to stay!
