April '11 Going to Busan, Korea

This is a scene at the airport where we saw this man on a Segue as he patrolled the area.

On the wall at the airport - iconic Mt. Fugi ...

Bridges ...

And here we are in Busan, Korea for the second time. We were here last June when we first arrived on our mission.

This little girl's mom was helping make the meal. She just wandered in and out of our meetings!

A Korean feast - for lunch!

Note the rice krispie bar - Sister Jennings' always brings these as a treat.

All lined up to eat!

Fun around the piano after the meetings - just singing together! No one wanted to leave.

I thought this was great - someone's BYU bag!

Note the Korean writing - much different from Japanese (or didn't you notice?).

We woke up one morning and this was right outside the mission office door - some homeless person was pretty brazen! He never came back for his things.

Rulon helping to barbecue the hot dogs for another lunch for the missionaries (2nd day).

He looks great in that apron, doesn't he!

Adding the toppings!

The Sisters' table ...

And the Elders!

Just good buds!

Still just boys!

One of our pianists - we had so many talented missionaries in Busan.

Sister Jennings passes out the brownies to the people with birthdays.

Getting the e-mail after a long day.

We so enjoyed our stay with the Jennings and loved being with all the wonderful missionaries in Busan!

Those meetings sound like a lot of fun. Those Elders and Sisters will never forget those experiences.

Dad, sorry you had to witness so many people desecrating the hotdogs you worked so hard on.

Dad responds:
Thanks, Mark. The wounds are healing. Your empathic skills are truely on display!

What talented, sweet missionaries you get to be surrounded with! I bet their parents would be happy if they saw your blog- knowing they were happy and in good hands. Dad, an apron is a good look for you! It reminds me of the only other time I've seen you in an apron- when you carve the turkey at Thanksgiving. That is sweet of Sis. Jennings to bake brownies for the birthday missionaries. That little Korean girl was adorable too. I'm glad you had such a great experience there and I'm sure the missionaries were happy to see you and Dad!
