Fukuoka Trip End of August '11
At the airport again - this time flying to Okinawa for zone conferences and then on through the Fukoka Mission.
There were orchids everywhere in Okinawa! It is like Hawaii in temperature and had a tropical feel.
Ready for more adventures!
Thought this plane was fun - lots of cartoon characters on it.
at an A&W! There is a strong military force there with lots of Americans so they cater to them.
These huge fish were in an aquarium at the airport.

We saw these dog/dragons everywhere. One has an closed mouth and one has an open mouth. On one of the zone conference programs, there was a picture of these with the scripture, "Yea, open your mouths and they shall be filled, saying: Repent, repent, and prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (D & C 33:10).
I loved this tile roof that we saw from our hotel window. It looked like a patchwork quilt!
Ready for yet another missionary meal.
They gave us missionary portions!
The Relief Society sisters who prepared it all.
Group picture....
The church building...
Posturing ...

Looks like a beautiful place and sounds like you were busy. Dad, you're Mr. Popularity! I suspect Mom is, too, we just don't get to see it.
With all of those meals, you ought to be putting on some weight. It doesn't appear so from the pictures. I guess missionary meals are fat-free. (Maybe I need to look into becoming a mission president or something.)
Fun mission times! Brings back good memories!
