The Frost Is On The .... Begonia!

We had a frost last week. Looks like the tropical begonia that I received for my birthday from a friend couldn't take it. The other little plant that I received at the RS Spring Social is still green. But that won't last either. Winter is coming even though we had wonderful weather for Halloween yesterday. I was thinking about the seasons of our lives. I am now nearing the "winter" season having been blessed with a wonderful "spring" and "summer". I guess I am in the latter part of my "fall". But unlike begonias that fade when the first frost hits, I hope that I can follow the examples of my parents and live well all through the winter. They are truly remarkable people and at 92, are still going strong. Sometimes they may feel a little wilted, but they are still able to do so much. I am so grateful for their health. They have truly lived through their seasons well and I hope to do the same.

Good analogy - although you're in the beautiful fall season for sure! We were lucky to get pretty good weather yesterday too!

Our weather was wonderful too. I think it was about 79. I would love to experience each season, but here in southern utah everything pretty much stays the same...Krissy

So I guess that would make me one of those obnoxious dandelions in mid-summer... Chris

I have finally found two of the dearest friends I have ever had and with a wonderful treat of seeing how the kids have grown and are as handsome and beautiful as I remember them when they were small. Rulon and Barbara, this is a special site which I will also pass onto Heatherly. Thank you for sharing your family. The two of you always made me smile and well are there words? just pure delight are the memories I have carried when I remember all we have shared. I love what you have done!!Linda

I will send it to Kim - her blog is privacy protected but I am sure she would love to give permission to you and Heatherly. And how is Ryan? We think of you when we drive past the old neighborhood. I remember Heatherly and Ryan. Good to hear from Linda again (though I never referred to her as "Linda" before).

Enjoyed your analogy, Mom. I'd say if Chris is in "mid-summer," I surely must be early to mid-April.

I am scared to turn 30- that means I'm definitely well into the summer, right? :) This is so true. I am amazed at G & G's strength and wisdom at their golden ages. They are great examples that make me look forward to living that long.

It was fun to hear from Linda! It's a small world, isn't it? I remember she was always so sweet to me as a little girl and I always thought she was a very pretty lady. It was so fun when we listened to her singing and playing the guitar and I still remember that cute Clyde song. So fun to hear about Heatherly's four adorable kids!
