August 21st
We are listening to the joyous sounds over at the reception center that we can see from our windows. It has been under renovation during the past ten days. Here they are about ready to remove some trees. We were sad to see them go. But they brought in a lot more plants and now I admit, it looks even better!
Doesn't it make the windows/doors look so nice!
This was just so amazing to us - painting in a white shirt, vest, dress shoes. I think this picture shows how they cleaned all the paint spots from the asphalt when they were finished.
And here he is painting in his suit coat - in August!
Everything was done in order and so quickly - here is the chair delivery.
The inside was redone also - here they are taking away the scaffolding.
We just can't believe that yesterday they were still working on it and today there have been two weddings! The Japanese are meticulous in what they do - and they even came over and told us that they were sorry that we may be inconvenienced for a few days with trucks and loud noise. What polite, wonderful people!

Wish the folks putting in the train track near us looked as nice! Also, they don't seem to care when we're following them 5 mph down the street!
So where did America go wrong? It's a rare thing to have polite or well-dressed workers around here. Though we live in the promised land, we probably have some of the the fattest, laziest, and rudest people in the world. (Not that I'm bitter or anything.)
