October 14th

For Family Home Evening, we sang some Japanese folk songs to the Japanese missionaries and then they sang to us! They have wonderful voices and seem to love to sing.
Elder and Sister Choi sing a little song for us. They sang in harmony! This is the sweetest lady! She is Sister Wada's mom and she is always so glad to see us. We enjoy trying to communicate with her!
No - we didn't go to Germany! This is the German Embassy and they have a display of posters on the wall. Rulon enjoyed seeing them. He served his mission there as did Grandpa Gibson, Mark and Kim.

What a wonderful thing when that wall came down! We were there shortly thereafter and felt the excitement of this momentous event.

I was there when the wall came down; but as a missionary, I had no access to television or radio news. I guess I just saw it from a different perspective. I got to see the looks on the East Germans' faces when they saw freedom for the first time.

Hi Grandma and Grandpa this is Sloanie. I miss you very much and I know you did the right thing in serving a mission. I can't wait to see you when I'm 10. I love your pictures on the blog, especially the girl with the mask! I always ask my Daddy to see your blog. I'm doing good in school. My teacher's name is Mrs. Spotts. Love you both, love Sloane
