October 28th

Look at these quilts! I went over to Jo Schofield's to make some bags for a Humanitarian Aid project and she had these on her walls. They have been appliqued by her mother. She is a true artist.

Here is Jo and one of the bags we made from her husband's old jeans.
What a fun morning!
And another beautiful quilt on a bed.
She made this one while recovering from a double mastectomy. It was her healing quilt!
On our walk, I saw this truck with all these mirrors. I guess they are necessary in order to navigate the very narrow streets in some places.
We passed hundreds of children coming home from school - it was so fun to see them and feel their exuberance!
Don't you love the long stockings and the shorts!
And here are the sister missionaries - one passed off her last requirement for the Alma O. Taylor award. Here is Dad signing her paper that says that she presented a lesson to us in English. She did a great job using her little art work pictures.
Aren't these great!

The sisters rode over here on their bikes in the rain. They were soaked but so happy and they brought a great spirit into our apartment. They also enjoyed a good home cooked meal!

The quilts are beautiful. What an amazing lady to make a "healing quilt". I loved the sister missionary's artwork too. They are so dedicated and look so happy. That's what inspires me- how happy the gospel makes people!
