April 16th '11 Cherry Blossom Trip

Cute little "Madelaine" school girls on the bus. They graciously posed for this picture. And some unposed pictures. They are so fun to watch.

We went to Shinjuku Park as a Relief Society group to view the cherry blossoms. We picked the perfect day - the weather was good and the blossoms were at their peak. This is an old tree and the blossoms are coming out of the trunk where branches have been cut off.
Ready for a fun morning!
Here I am with the "Hope of Spring and Renewal" behind me.
You really can't imagine the beauty unless you see it in person. Lane after lane of beautiful pink trees!
And spring daffodils!
People were out in droves to see this fleeting phenomonen.
We sat on the ground under the trees for a lunch. Note the carpet of petals that we sat on!

Here is a little girl playing with an umbrella. Her proud parents were taking pictures of her.
Carpet of pink blossoms!
Twin boys enjoying the day.

Look at these cute little girls with their pony tails!
Even businessmen took a break to enjoy nature and have lunch.
A beautiful curved bridge over the pond with all the splendor of the trees.
Crossing the bridge and admiring the beauty.
Trying to capture what we saw with a camera was quite impossible.

So glad I experienced Spring in Japan!
Two sisters serving missions at the same time!
What great friends I have!
Notice anything on the tree trunk?
See it now? An artist was giving away some of his work. He said he just enjoyed sharing his talents and loved to make people happy.
You would never know from looking at this post that there had ever been an earthquake and tsunami. So glad that not all of this beautiful land was destroyed.

The pictures look beautiful. I can't even imagine what it looks like in person. Although I remember trying to do the German parks justice with my old camera in springtime in Germany.

Glad you have such wonderful friends there.

Wow! How beautiful! My favorite was the picture of the water and the bridge. I'm so glad the people there can enjoy the beauty in the land even with all of the hardship that is being endured. I hope those up north will be blessed with some of this beauty too!

Beautiful pictures (not including the man in the hot tub)! :) I wish I could grow those trees in my yard! You are surrounded by beautiful people in a beautiful land. I hope Heaven has cherry blossom trees like that there!
