September 19th
As I was working at my desk on the 7th floor of the Area Office Building, I looked over and saw this man cleaning the windows!
Glad it wasn't me!
The new fall fashions are in all the shop windows. I was considering buying this smart hat - not really!
We went out to an area where electronics of every sort are sold. It was Best Buy, Circuit City, and all the other big stores you can name put together! We only went in one building (skyscraper). Here is a sample of some of the items. Dad and Elder Goth wandered around looking at gadgets while Sister Goth and I found the Japanese souvenir department and stayed there looking for an hour or so.
Another subway sign - don't hog the seats!
As we were walking along the street, we saw all sorts of shops and eating places. Here is one where you just stand at a counter to eat your food.
This little green man is on all the stop lights and exit signs. You have to wait until the little red man disappears before you cross the street.
All sorts of interesting things - here is a tower or monument.
And you can get your palms read at this handy place along the walkway.
Here is a Buddhist monk who was chanting - we put some coins in his basket. He didn't offer to bless us though.
In front of the Tori (entrance) Gate to the largest shrine in Tokyo.
After you enter the gate to the shrine, you go through a long corridor where there are shops of every kind. They cater to tourists - maybe Temple Square should consider such an enterprise!
One of the many little shops along the way ...
Japanese sandals ...
People and their pets out for a stroll. It was a perfect evening weatherwise! Finally, we have a break from the hot, humid summer!
Baked goods ...
Masks ...
Fans ...
Hair clips and decorations ...
Wigs ...
And more masks ....
Life sized figure on a building ...
This sign says "Not Photography" - I think they meant "no photographs" but I wasn't sure so I took a picture!

There really is a LOT to see. I'm glad that you get time to see so much of it. I'd LOVE to go shopping there...so many fun souvenirs that I'd have no place to display. :)
The window washer brought back memories of my days at Deseret Towers washing the windows there. Now, those buildings no longer exist.
You crack me up with your picture taking when it said in plain English, "Not Photography." We also weren't quite sure what the "Do it again" sign meant on the subway.
Yeah, who knew you were such a rebel, Mom, taking pictures of the no photography sign! :) Oh, and I bet you could make that hat yourself if you really wanted it. Those markets look fun with a lot to look at.
