November 15th
This is Allan West, an LDS artist who let a group of us come to his studio. He showed his his magnificent paintings, mainly done on screens. He told us how he came to be an artist working in Japan. He served a mission here and fell in love with the land and the way art was done here.
This is his wife. They have quite a business and he will be famous (more famous) someday!
This is the studio. It is in a quieter neigborhood (compared to ours) and there were so many wonderful things to see as we walked there (from the subway).
And this is where we had lunch!!! I told everyone about Paige and Dan meeting at Denny's and they loved the story.
Buying a treat on the way home.
Last night I got to babysit these children while their mom and older sister went to a fireside. Their dad is in Afghanistan (the one who was in Mark's mission). I let them make money bread and they had a ball. I missed my grandchildren!!!!!!
Here they are with all the books they wanted me to read.
An interesting story - we were walking home from Church a couple of weeks ago and saw a man taking pictures of the temple. He saw our badges and came over to ask if we were missionaries. It turns out he is a pediatrician from Guatemala here for a conference. His wife's father is in the temple presidency in Guatemala. However, he is less active in the church. We invited him to walk down to our apartment and have dinner with us and the Fillmores. We hope that he goes back and rethinks his commitment to the church. He was very nice.

I REALLY want the recipe for the money bread!!! Sounds like you are serving as usual and finding ways to do missionary work where ever you are! Good job!
All it is (monkey bread) is just roll dough (rolled into balls) dipped in cinnamon sugar and placed in a bundt pan that has been well greased! Just fill the pan 1/2 full because it rises up to the top. The kids love pulling off the pieces to eat especially when it is hot.
Love, Mom
OK _ I FINIALLY REALIZED what I had written - I wondered why you wanted that recipe! You got me!
:):) Gotta have some fun! :)
Forget the recipe. Just send me the ingredients!
Looks like all is well in Japan. Enjoy the mission presidents' seminar.
