Walk in the Park

Last night we went for a walk in the park right across from the temple. I had fun reading the signs.

This was in the middle of a pond - I guess they are protecting some plant life.

Too dark - but a beautiful bridge over a stream.

Such a lot of greenery in the midst of the city.
I was excited to see the libray...
until I saw that you can't borrow anything from it.

I can see why they put this sign on this particular tree ...
it would be so tempting to crawl up the trunk!
A statue of some famous person.
A playground for kids - soccer, I think.
Beautiful view of the pond - it was getting dark.

This person is ready for anything! I have seen moms with two or three children on their bike.
And the missionaries bikes - they were having dinner with the Watabes - our neighbors.
Sometimes I wish we were on bikes! We have to move over whenever we hear a little bell behind us. But I must say that the Japanese are very good at dodging people and objects. They get a lot of practice!

First of all -- I think I would fall over just trying to get on that bike with the two baby seats. Wow! That really does take courage. Secondly -- I think I would be given a ticket in that park. I'm not sure I know what the rule about "throwing fishing " really means! Maybe you can help them translate those signs to be a little easier to understand before you leave! Also, do they ever mention what you can do? :-) I'm assuming walking and looking are okay! :-) And are the kids there so obedient that they don't climb that tree -- ever?! I am, however, impressed that they do have so many signs translated into English. You will survive there and be sure to refrain from catching any birds!!!!

Oh and by the way, I'm all the more grateful for our libraries now! See, I gained a huge appreciation for being able to check out a book! Thanks, Mom!! Love you both!!

Those are hilarious! I've never seen so many signs in a park! Although I think maybe the sign about not bringing your dogs to the park because kids eat there would be very beneficial!

I wouldn't be so quick to laugh. I've thrown fish before. Turns out it IS very dangerous! An errant throw led to a slimy carp hitting this big dude's girlfriend on the back of the head. There's a mistake I won't repeat!
