July 27th
Have you ever taken a bag of potato chips to a pot luck and come back with it almost full? I guess the Japanese aren't as keen on chips as we are! Had to get these at Costco.
This is how the mail is delivered.
Here is where you put your letters to be mailed. Stamps are 80 yen which seems like a lot but mail is delivered the very next day across the city.
It is extremely rare to see separate lanes for pedestrians and bicyclists. Usually we have to dodge them on the streets and on the sidewalks.
Construction on buildings is amazing. The whole skeleton is covered in huge tarps and each night when the workers finish, the area is swept and cleaned.
Here are Elders Flint and Kendall who ate dinner with us last week. Fun guys!
Two little boys who are bored with the wedding reception. They reminded me of my grandsons!
I think the older boy spotted me in the window with the camera.
It was our turn to host the Family Home Evening for all the couples including those who work at the temple. We honored the Dimicks who will be leaving next Monday. We did an "OldieWeds" game to see what they would say about the other. It was fun and I think everyone enjoyed it. We had to go to the annex at the temple because meeting were being held in our usual place in the PBO. It was even better because there was more room.

Love the new blog look, Mom! You are so thoughtful and creative, always thinking of others. Loved the apron you made. The people there look so nice. The little boys were adorable at the reception. I'm sure we Americans can learn a lot from the Japanese- especially their lack of love for potato chips! The Elders looked like such good guys too. I just love seeing you pictures daily. It is so fun for me and always brightens my day. I miss you guys! Hope you had fun at lunch with the ladies!
